Don't let fear hold you back

Do you have goals and dreams but find that you are afraid it will never happen, like it 'would be soo nice, but just isn't realistic'?
I don't mean to be rude or hurt anyone's feelings, but the quote below is SOO spot on that I just HAD to include it in this blog post. I mean it with all the warmth and love within me. 💕

In todays blog post, I am going to share why I don't think we should let fear hold us back from our goals, desires and dreams.
About 9 months ago, I came across this Fabulous lady named Jennifer Allwood. I heard her as a guest speaker on a 21 day Facebook Challenge that Pete Vargas was running.
She briefly mentioned that she had just launched her book called "Fear is not the boss of you". So I ordered it and boy I am soo glad I did!! It is Such an Excellent book! 😊💕
In her book she covers so many different angles of fear and how often it holds us back from what we would like to do and in some cases, even holds us back from what God has in store for us.
On page 79 of her book "Fear is not the boss of you", she says "The reason we stay tied to our excuses is because we are scared".
It's SO true!!
How many things would you have loved to have done or said or experienced, but you didn't...because you were too scared?
You thought you might get hurt or someone might get hurt. Or you thought "maybe later.....but right now, I have other more important things that I need to focus on." But truth be known, these were all just excuses because you were really just afraid.
She goes on to say "Your feelings are not the boss of you. Fear is not the boss of you. Yes, your feelings are real, but they are NOT in control and they should NOT keep you stuck". To that, all I have to say is "AMEN!! Preach it!!" 😊👍💕

Why don't you stop for just a minute and think of something that you would absolutely love to have in your life, but you are afraid it will never happen.
Have you thought of it yet?
No cheating.....you can't keep reading if you haven't actually thought of it yet. 😂
Go ahead, take a nice deep breath in and as you exhale, close your eyes and think for a minute or two of what you would absolute love to have in your life if you could have anything and money were not an issue.
Have you figured it out now?
Now, that you have a very clear picture of exactly what it is that you would love to have......I want you to think of what you would need to do in order to make that dream or goal a reality?
Break it up into small chunks. Small steps you could take either daily or weekly to help make your goal or dream a reality.

There is a great TedTalk by Tim Ferris called "Why you should define your fears instead of your goals". You should check it out.
In that TedTalk, he mentioned how he learned of an idea of visualizing and writing down the worst case scenarios of what could possibly happen if you were to take action on what it is you are afraid of.
And that mentally thinking about the worst case scenarios often times results in you realizing that even if the worst case scenarios DID come true.....that it usually wouldn't be so bad.
Even if it is so bad, chances are extremely high that you will live through it. Thus getting you to the point where you can actually go ahead and take action on that thing that you are afraid of.
Point being.....I think that often times we get so worried and afraid of things that most likely never even end up happening.
Thus, we are really wasting a lot of valuable time.
Time we can never get back.
We can always get more money, but our time is limited. We can't buy ourselves more time.
So we really need to cherish all the time we do have and not waste it.

Earlier this week, I recieved an email from Jim Fortin. I am on his email list. I love how in his email he words it so perfectly. It is a bit long, but I encourage you to read it to the end. He said "The message I want to share with you this week is a reminder to stay out of fear and stay out of worry because they're simply going to drown you. Whatever is happening in the world, it's all going to be fine.....So what I'm asking you right now is when it comes to worry and fear, how are you operating? Are you operating from peace on the inside? Or are you operating from worry and fear on the outside?......
You go into worry when something in your future is unknown or unresolved......Worry in your life is about a future date outcome and you don't know what the outcome is. Now, here's where it becomes ridiculous. You don't know what's going to happen one minute from right now.....but are you worried about one minute from right now? No, you're not. You don't know what's going to happen when you step out your front door tomorrow. But are you worried about stepping out of your front door tomorrow? No, you're not worried about it. Notice that when you worry it's because you're worried about something unknown or unresolved, but your entire life in truth is unknown. And unresolved. You're choosing to worry about things that don't matter because you don't even know........The best possible place that you can be is at peace because you cannot control anything.....So the way to stop fear and worry is to recognize that you're not fear and worry, and move your attention.....You are a human being who has worrisome thought. You are the thinker of fear and worry. You can change your thoughts".
He hit the nail on the head in my opinion. I mean, he's totally right......We are human beings with worrisome thoughts. But we totally have the ability to control our thoughts! So why don't we? All we need to do is change our thoughts!
So in conclusion, we really don't know what is going to happen from one minute to the next. Life is a gift. Our time should be cherished. If we find ourselves slipping into a state of worrisome thoughts....... ALL WE NEED TO DO IS CHANGE OUR THOUGHTS! 😊
